Cytolyse: A Behind the Scenes Look
The Scientific Formulation of Cytolyse
On the more technical side, the scientific formulation of Cytolyse (Formula #3209 in Canada) as presented here, may be of particular interest for medical advisors and related clinical staff.
Cytolyse, one of seven products in Infinity2's Professional Line, takes advantage of the abundant research that has been done on proteolytic enzymes and their natural anti-inflammatory action. These powerful enzymes break up waste protein substances in the blood and tissues. Studies show that administering a strong proteolytic enzyme formula in the case of an injury will speed healing. Proteolytic enzymes have been used in Europe for years, and, in cases of inflammation, Europeans generally prefer them over the non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) customarily administered in North America.
In formulating Cytolyse, we took the research that has been done on natural anti-Inflammatories to a new level by using a highly potent, advanced set of proteolytic enzymes. We also added other ingredients such as valerian root, a natural herbal muscle relaxant. (You may be aware that the popular drug Valium is a synthetic mimic of Valerian, and that, for years, Valium was the most popularly prescribed muscle relaxant.)
One primary use of Cytolyse is to hydrolyze protein, or in other words, to make protein soluble. When an area of the body becomes inflamed, the inflamed tissue activates the immune system causing waste materials to collect in the injured area. Inflammation also activates the protein that is in the blood and precipitates it in the form of fibrin. The fibrin collects in the injured area and accumulates protein waste material. This prolongs healing because it prevents active agents of the immune system, such as white cells and antibodies, from reaching the injured area. Using Cytolyse to aid in the removal of protein waste allows the body to drain the injured tissue of accumulated fluid and toxic metabolic by-products.
Generally, Cytolyse should be used for injuries that would normally be treated by using ice. The dosage depends on the severity of the injury. For example, if a condition causes a lot of pain, and maybe even disability or impaired function that threatens other parts of the body, it is appropriate to use Cytolyse aggressively, even as many as three capsules every hour, for a short period of time. For less severe injuries, begin with two capsules every two hours.
Cytolyse is generally considered to be an acute formula. It is important to note that even if the injury happened three years ago, if it's still causing pain, there is acuteness. An "old" injury that is still in the acute stage of inflammation will often respond to Cytolyse.
The key to realizing the benefits of Cytolyse is to understand that its principle mode of action is facilitate the clearing of waste protein from body fluids and tissues.
In the blood, Cytolyse helps to break up severe cases of clumped red cells. This formula proves to offer oxygen and nutrient deliverance, in many cases more rapidly and more efficiently than anything else. As a general rule, Cytolyse can effectively deal with essentially anything in the blood that doesn't belong there.
Though Cytolyse and/or the use of proteolytic enzymes causes no adverse side effects, there are some contraindications to be aware of. For certain people, high doses of proteolytic enzymes may thin the blood, as would a mild blood thinner. Also, patients who have gastritis or ulcers may experience some gastric irritation. Cytolyse is not contraindicated for pregnant or lactating women; however, it should always be administered with the consent of an obstetrician.
